Improving Access to Education

Increasing access to education is vital for stopping the cycle of poverty and providing better opportunities for the youthful women of Uganda. Many children, and especially girls, face obstacles to education, including school fees, limited materials, and long distances to travel to school. The project aims to eliminate those obstacles, providing inclusive, affordable, and quality education that empowers children to both learn and succeed.

The Action Point Initiative combines scholarship programs, community-based learning facilities, provison of sanitary reusable pads, and training women and girls with vocational skills training. By providing skills-based vocational projects, digital literacy initiatives, and entrepreneurship training programs, students will be able to complete their academic program while receiving valuable employment-related skills. Other activities such as school feeding initiatives, safe transportation services, and mentorship networks help to provide continued access to education for youth, particularly those that are marginalized.

With the goal of increased enrollment in schools and significantly increased levels of literacy, the initiative will create enhanced pathways to secondary, vocational, and lifelong education. By opening pathways to educational opportunities and providing employment-related skills to the youth of Uganda, Uganda will build a future where children can realise their full potential, support their families, and contribute to Uganda’s national progress.
