Project Committees
The committees are responsible for the planning and implementation of programmes and activities of Women Action Point Initiative – Uganda. The Projects Coordinator acts the chairperson and its membership consist of the General Secretary, Accountant and treasurer, Field Officers, two members elected by the General Assembly and the communication Specialists. The programmes are subject to the approval of the board
We have other committee for example, the Finance Committee and the disciplinary committee.
Finance Committee
This Committee ensures strong financial stewardship by overseeing budgets, reviewing financial reports, monitoring audits, and safeguarding assets. It works closely with the Treasurer and Executive Director to maintain transparency, compliance, and sustainability, while advising the board on financial risks, investments, and fundraising strategies. In essence, it acts as WAPI’s watchdog and advisor, making sure resources are managed responsibly to support the mission.
Communication Committee
The Communication Committee ensures that WAPI’s story is told with clarity, consistency, and purpose anchored in the organization’s vision, mission, and transformative goals. It oversees how WAPI’s work is represented across the website, and media platforms like social media, ensuring that every message reflects the dignity, opportunity, and hope at the heart of the movement.
By sharing real actions, current events, and impact stories, the committee fosters engagement and attracts minded individuals who believe in women led change. Through strategic storytelling and outreach, it builds visibility, trust, and momentum for WAPI’s mission to empower grassroots women and girls and leave no one behind.
Disciplinary Committee
This committee is responsible for upholding ethical standards and ensuring accountability. It investigates cases of misconduct, conducts fair hearings, and recommends appropriate actions such as warnings, suspensions, or dismissals. By enforcing the code of conduct and mediating disputes, the committee helps maintain professionalism, trust, and harmony within the organization, safeguarding its reputation and mission.
