Empowering Women Economically

Beekeeping income generating project for women

It is important to empower women economically in order to build resilient and inclusive societies in Uganda. There are several obstacles that hinder women from obtaining education, accessing finance or having access to markets; therefore, this initiative aims to provide women with practical skills and entrepreneurial opportunities so they can support themselves financially and become independent.

The objective of this initiative is to provide vocational training, digital literacy, and microcredit programs to enable women to develop their savings groups and cooperatives in addition to providing them with financial literacy. Creating links between women‑owned businesses and market access on a local and global level will enhance women’s collective bargaining power and enable them to provide for themselves and their families.

Through advocacy, the initiative will ensure that women’s voices are part of the conversation when it comes to economic decision‑making. Ultimately, Africa will invest in its women to increase household income, build resilient communities and increase the recognition of the contributions women make to achieving sustainable development in Uganda.

Empowering women is a critical first step toward transforming Uganda into a nation that promotes individual empowerment, family empowerment, and national development.
